Barrick expands MINEMAN at Osborne Mines
Melbourne based MINEMAN Systems has signed a contract with Barrick Gold Corporation, to expand and enhance the MINEMAN integrated mine management system at Osborne Mines in Queensland, Australia. Barrick is the world's largest gold company and acquired Osborne Mines in its merger with Placer in 2006.
MINEMAN Systems supplies mission-critical software to the global mining and metals industry. Osborne has been running MINEMAN since 1997.
The scope of the contract includes a major upgrade and the addition of new functionality to manage direct shipping ore, logistics, marketing administration and revenue financials. The new system will enable the business to comply with US Sarbanes Oxley regulations and will streamline the management of contracts and month-end financials.
The new installation will also enable staff to operate MINEMAN from the mine site as well as the Townsville regional office, and other remote locations.
